Paris News: "TiM" will be screened at L'ETRANGE SOIREE DE TIM BURTON - CONVENTION HOMMAGE

L'ETRANGE SOIREE DE TIM BURTON - CONVENTION HOMMAGE
(The Strange Evening of Tim Burton - Convention Tribute)
Recently I was asked to show my short film "TiM" at a Tim Burton Exhibition in Paris, France. Roughly translated its called "The Strange Evening of Tim Burton - Convention Tribute". It will be happening on February 4th 2012 in Saint-ouen near Paris. There will be 2 films of the director shown on this occasion. First will be "Nightmare Before Christmas" and then "Sleepy Hollow". I believe "TiM" will be shown before Sleepy Hollow. If you are in Paris, France and you are a big Tim Burton be sure to check out this event next weekend. Here's a link to the facebook page for the event:

The films will be shown at a new original cinema in Saint Ouen just near Paris which is called Commune Image. It apparently can seat about 170 people. Here's a photo of the cinema (seen below).

I provided them with the new "TiM" poster (seen below) with some banners from other film festivals that it has screened at.

In other Paris news, I was also asked by Seb Mesnard http://littlewhitebat.blogspot.com (who organized the Edward Scissorhands 20th Anniversary exhibition last year with Gallery Nucleus) to contribute an art piece to a new gallery exhibition in July of this year at gallery Maghen at two steps from Notre Dame.
I'll give more news on that event as it gets closer.
Cheers

I'm continuing the series that I started last year with the Batman characters. They will be featured in either comic,tv or movie versions for each character. Keeping in the style of the late great Ronald Searle. Check back for more all this week and throughout the year.
Today is Batman Returns' Catwoman.
Cheers

"A Comedy of Terrors" & "The Raven"

If you are into "Dark Comedies", I highly recommend them.
Below are a couple of classic movie posters from those films.

INSTORE Magazine Article
I was contacted about a month ago by Josh Wimmer of INSTORE magazine, which is one of the top american jewelry magazines, and they wanted to do a little article on some Valentine's Day illustrations I did with Red Dice Media for S.V. Jewellers. Its part of there 10 Year Anniversary issue which comes out this month. I made a scan of the cover and the page the article appears on (seen above).

Sadly this week one of my heroes British cartoonist Ronald Searle died at age 91. He was the major style influence behind these illustrations, so I was very glad his name was added in this article. Hopefully more people will look up his work and see just how brilliant all his drawings are.
For those who haven't seen the jewelry illustrations, I've added them below.
